What is Nesgate, in short?

Nesgate is a small add-on for the web browser. When an employee is about to send something to an AI tool such as ChatGPT, it checks for sensitive information (passwords, ID numbers, card numbers, customer data) and hides it first. The employee still gets a useful answer, and the company’s data does not leak.

Can Nesgate read our messages or files?

No. All checking happens on the employee’s own computer. When something sensitive is found, your admin dashboard only receives a summary: the kind of information (for example “card number”), what happened and a preview with the sensitive part hidden. Never the original message, file or photo.

Will it slow my staff down?

No. The check happens instantly on the computer while people type. By default only the sensitive part is hidden and the rest is sent, so people keep working. Checking a photo of an ID card takes about a second.

Which web browsers are supported?

Chrome and Edge: install Nesgate from the Chrome Web Store (Edge installs Chrome Web Store extensions too) and it updates itself. Firefox 140 and later: install from Firefox Add-ons, with automatic updates. Prefer a file? The download page has the verified package with a two-minute guide. Nesgate protects 39 AI apps out of the box, and organizations can add any internal or niche AI tool.

Which AI tools are protected?

39 tools are covered from day one: ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, Microsoft Copilot, Microsoft 365 Copilot, DeepSeek, Meta AI, Grok, Le Chat (Mistral), NotebookLM, Poe, HuggingChat, Qwen Chat, Qianwen (Tongyi), Kimi, Doubao, ERNIE Bot, Yuanbao, Z.ai (GLM), Duck.ai, LMArena, DeepAI Chat, ChatHub, TypingMind, Monica, Chatsonic, Perplexity, You.com, Felo, Google AI Studio, OpenAI Playground, Claude Console, Jasper, GitHub Copilot Chat, Phind, Manus, Genspark, Pi and Character.AI. Companies can add their own internal AI tools, and allow or block each one.

Are photos and screenshots checked on every plan?

On the Professional, Business and Enterprise plans, yes: text inside photos, screenshots and scanned documents is read on the computer and sensitive parts are blacked out. On the Free plan, images are not read; Nesgate asks you to remove them or send them as they are.

What does Nesgate not cover yet?

Nesgate protects AI tools used in the Chrome, Edge and Firefox web browsers on a computer. It does not yet cover: the Safari browser and phones; AI apps installed on a computer or phone (such as the ChatGPT desktop app); AI built into other software (such as Copilot inside Office, Notion AI or Gmail); AI tools used by software developers through code; and the content of password-protected ZIP files. We say this up front so you can plan around it.

What happens when the free trial ends?

Personal accounts move to the Free plan automatically. For companies, basic protection keeps running; extra features pause and settings are locked until you choose a plan. Nothing is deleted.

What do employees see?

A short note when something was hidden, warned about or stopped, and (unless your admin turns it off) a personal page showing what Nesgate stopped for them and why. They never see anyone else’s events. In a company account, only an admin can remove Nesgate from a computer.

Where is our data stored?

On servers in Singapore, with each company’s data kept separate. Nesgate only stores summaries with the sensitive parts hidden, never the messages or files themselves. Hosting in Indonesia and ISO 27001 / SOC 2 certification are planned. See the Security page for details.

Why not simply block AI at work?

When AI is blocked, people often switch to their personal phones or laptops, where the company has no protection or visibility at all. Nesgate lets staff keep the productivity benefits of AI and removes only the sensitive part.
